Inside Information to design wayfinding for new Birmingham City University campus
Inside Information has been appointed by Birmingham City University to their ambitious new £150m Eastside City Centre campus project.
The University’s new development will be at the heart of the regeneration of the Eastside area of the City of Birmingham. It will incorporate cutting edge technology to enhance the student experience and support business engagement. It will also add great value to the University’s mission in developing a leading educational resource, recognised both here in the UK and internationally.
Inside Information will be involved from the earliest stages of the design process to develop and implement a robust wayfinding strategy. Our scope of work includes pre-visit planning and navigation to and from the campus, as well as all the internal and external wayfinding requirements on the site itself. Working in conjunction with the other design team members we will be developing a holistic answer that will highlight the new campus within the Birmingham cityscape and flag it up as a centre for cultural activities and creative excellence.”
The new campus will include television studios, a library, concert hall, performance theatre, music recital hall, lecture theatres and a learning resource centre. Each area will require a tailored approach and all will be brought together in a consistent system to enhance the operation of the building and to benefit all of its users.
Graham Rhodes, Director of estates at Birmingham City University said, “The University now has a group of dynamic professionals on board who will be working closely with me and the estates project team. Their experience and expertise will help propel this project and put the University on the map.”
