Creativity
Modern office space can be bland. A workstation, meeting room, corridor, floor – they all look much the same. As wayfinding specialists, part of our remit is to help bring character to corporate spaces, so that different zones can be easily identified.
To this end, we create distinctive visual themes and ‘landmarks’ which – whether they are aware of it or not – help people to pin-point where they are, and then figure out where they need to go. These could be artworks or banners, sculptures or fountains, greenery or scenery. They might be reflected visually in the signage system, and complemented by creative naming systems, furnishings, wall colour, floor finishes, lighting design etc.
We also devise ways to reflect an organisation’s corporate identity within the overall wayfinding scheme – everything from imaginatively incorporating corporate colours and typefaces, to creating imagery that’s inspiring and right on brand.
Wayfinding demands an unusual blend of science, psychology and design. These elements need to be carefully balanced to achieve a clear, coherent system. We use three guiding principles as the building blocks of all our work.
